I was given his extension, as THE person to talk to, rather than anyone
else attempting the same thing having to go through the whole thing and
having multiple people saying multiple things to multiple people, by
plastering one number as the person to talk to about this issue we have
some sort of consolidation.

I took note of everything I was told. Which wasn't a lot.

As I said, Orcon said talk to xtra, Xtra seem to think Orcon is correct
in saying this. (Previous experience generally is Xtra will boot you out
of the system as soon as they realise your with an ISP... so I think
this time it is Telecom I need to be talking to (and not xtra per se)...
I don't know...
