DNS is a part of PPP; No ISP with half a clue would break
auto-assigned-DNS. Therefore more than likely there was some 'funkiness'
in your last set of PPP credentials and ISPs usually advise a restart to
'start from scratch' - likely then that you'd get reassigned appropriate
NS and would be happy...

When you're already broken, often a reboot is a good idea. Or is it that
too many years of Microsoft OS usage has corrupted my thinking...
