Replying to Brian Gibson.

I rang Paradise.net.nz and they were very very clear.

If I want broadband with Paradise as my ISP I have to switch to
TelstraClear cable (the big ugly black bundle of cables that runs
around Wellington).

They will not supply Telecom ADSL in areas where they have their
cable.

I think you are being a bit tough on Telecom there :)

Telecom want to be the only ADSL provider in NZ, and to date they have been
getting what they want.

No, Telecom must stop supplying "retail" ADSL products .These products will
now be wholesaled to an ISP who will usually add value (e.g. email) and
bundle the ADSL as an integrated service.

AFAIK Paradise have signed WSA so you should be able to switch to a
Paradise WSA product e.g. WSA Jetstream or UBS.

Have you contacted Paradise about this?

Cheers
