The ADSL mailing list has been quiet in 2007. This post will be the
16th post in 9 months.

Whatever the reasons, there isn't much traffic. If the list is no
longer required, and it appears it is not, it should be shut down.
There is not much sense in having it around if it's not useful.

The same applies to that chat and broadband lists. :)

I agree,
In the world of progress, I suspect that forums (such as the ones at www.nzdsl.co.nz) are taking over the good ol mailing lists.
Thanks to all those useful posts to this list over the last 5 years

Indeed on both counts. I actually had the impression that DSL has been
'done to death' (at least the breed we currently run) and that the
technology is pretty well known and supported by the ISPs offering it.
Also, the media has (from my point of view) smartened up on broadband
issues over the last few years.
Interestingly I still see people accessing both
http://www.blakjak.net/adsl/ and http://www.blakjak.net/DSL which were
largely created due to traffic on this list, back in the day where
supporting DSL customers was a large portion of my work.
Question for you Dan: will the web archive remain extant?
- Mark.

If needed I can run the mailing list if Dan/Everyone on the link is willing
to allow me to.
Thanks

Only if you run it on Majordomo and refuse to accept that things can be
improved when people suggest that there may be problems with the way
majordomo works ;-)
On a more serious note tho, the list archives - we really should
preserve those, I mean, how else are people going to find out what an
a** I am :-) - Craigs DSL website seems to logical place for those is
Craig is willing.

Good idea, the info is still useful, like we still have M11s out there :)
