Sounds like you need Wingate support as that is the product you are having
trouble with.

Getting the new sm200d drivers working under linux is fine if you download the
source from telemann.com and don't use IHUGs drivers from their website.

We use it on a linux system and it really does work well.

My only other though was that is was perhaps a 56K issue (Ive seen many a 10
second stall with dialup 56ks, but none with 33k6s), but you've bassically
proved its not that by trying it without wingate and having no problems.
