181 ? Thats low. I used to get 194-200 and others were 204+. I think your signal
is low quality. It may be time to call iHug helpdesk and get a service
technician around to test/realign antenna.

Prove to them that the Sat is the link by pinging the IP number of the pool that
you dial into, and then pinging an external IP (say www.xtra.co.nz) and proving
that the local works fine and the remote looses packets.

To find the IP number you're dialed into, use:

(as root)
ifconfig | egrep -A1 ppp

Ping the second IP number on that line and you will receive the ping replies
back via the modem.
