Well, things stopped working last night exactly as you described.
Only thing is that connecting with the modem for a minute or two
didn't fix things. Bummmer!

I received a different IP but I could ping it.

I agree. Linux is unsupported though :-( Not that windows is supported much.
Last time I tried to get help the "select 1 for blah" with their phone
system
didn't work from Dunedin. Telecom checked and said the problem was with the
phone system. Works during 9-5 but not out of hours. I've not tried for a
while but
I have better things to do with an hour.
