How large is large? How about 1008 bytes? I'd do it to Web Internet:

ping -c 10 -s 1000 www.win.co.nz

--- www.win.co.nz ping statistics ---
10 packets transmitted, 10 packets received, 0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max = 30.7/30.9/31.3 ms

OK now 2008 bytes:

ping -c 10 -s 2000 www.win.co.nz

--- www.win.co.nz ping statistics ---
10 packets transmitted, 10 packets received, 0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max = 52.1/62.4/80.0 ms

In comparison a 64 byte packet is:

10 packets transmitted, 10 packets received, 0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max = 5.9/6.3/8.8 ms

So what's your prognosis?

Regards,
Adam
