I would like to run VNC (http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/) a
Pcanywhere type of program on a freebsd box that I have set up so that I
can administer that box from my Windoze machine. I have a jetstart
connection with xtra and m1122 that I own not rent...
Problem is vnc reports my ip as an internal address and I wanted to be
able to access it with a laptop outside of my network at home (using
Directupdate for ip address updating - works sweet).
This is the version info of the m1122:
SW boot version: Bxxxx110.R01
SW appl. version: Gx1x2220.R08
HW version: T66280.01 G
So far my attempts to pinhole programs like VNC have failed
(http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/faq.html#q52 using info from here).
Help I'd like from this forum is basically what is a simple way to set
up any program so that it is pinholed correctly - is there an easy test
to check you have done it and securely? Secondly I think I need to
upgrade to version 2230.R03 - How?
Cheers people
