Get yourself a copy of SmartFTP or FlashFXP. Both of these have an
option to set the "real" IP address (i.e. the one assigned to your
router) for PORT commands. Then you need to configure the firewall to
forward a range of ports to your PC and configure SmartFTP or FlashFXP
to use this port range. (You can use the DMZ IP address option to
forward all ports, thus disabling the routing/firewall function).

Regan

Subject: dsl504 and ftp
Hello all,
I have just bought myself a dlink DSL504 and signed up with
JetStart
via Paradise. I am trying to reach my ftp but i can't get around the
built in firewall. The other end is configured to use active ftp, which
apparently means I have to let a range of ports be open at my end and
receive from either 20 or 21. I've poked around in the web based config
module but haven't got it doing what i need.
Does anyone here have any experience with the DSL504 or other similar
firewalls? I hate reverting to my dialup just to upload things.
Cheers,
	Craig
