There is NZwireless.co.nz
They're available in West Auckland (and some other placed) but using wifi.
Personally, I'm not confident they will be able to ensure quality service
in the future with all the possible interference etc or that they will
have enough bandwidth (they're only using B at the moment too) but I
could be wrong...

In terms of the licensed spectrums, there are only a few companies most
of who are either already offering or if not unlikely to offer anything
worthwhile IMHO.

Players do have to "use it or lose it" but provided they use it, I don't think
it matters if we don't like what they're offering

Specifically

BCL - we've already seen what crap they're offering. If you can't
get anything else, then they might be a good option although if
you don't need good latency satellite might be better?
Walker/Woosh - pricing not as bad as BCL perhaps but in terms of
performance and long term prospects things don't look good IMHO
&
Counties Power - the only company to offer anything decent IMHO

are already offering services

Then

Telecom - not sure what they plan but I'm sure they'll do something which
doesn't benefit anyone. Maybe they'll just donate their spectrums to BCL?
I had the idea they were planning to use their spectrums for non last-mile
links (e.g. exchange to exchange) but can't find any references
Vodafone - associated with Woosh so I doubt they'll often anything that
great, probably only mobile stuff although they do have part of the 3.5ghz
which by can only really be used for fixed wireless I think
TelstraClear - don't seem to think wireless is the way to go and don't
intend to use it for residential services
http://www.computerworld.co.nz/news.nsf/UNID/69DEE1231B3B0456CC256ECA00171C63

There is also the two parts of the 3.5ghz spectrum kept for small operations
and there is probably going to be more spectrum in other areas opening up in
the future but it remains to be seen who besides WC are going to provide
good, reasonably priced service for residential users. Perhaps our best hope
is if WC are successful, Vodafone, TC etc might reconsider?
Then Telecom will probably decide they can unlimited Jetstream full wholesale
and have decent retail offerings. If we're luckily it'll happen throughout NZ
but given their history, there is a good chance they might decide to only do
it in places where this competition

Try www.nzwireless.org forums... From what I've read it
should be fine though, WC don't suffer latency or
weather problems...
